This three-year honours Mass Communication program is designed to equip students with knowledge at the intersection of media, information and new communication technologies.
With a unique combination of knowledge and skill-based curriculum, students are exposed to web page design, writing skills, video production and broadcasting, as well as essential business knowledge in marketing or management. With these skills at hand, they are well on their way to carve a career in the challenging field of media and communications.
Students can minor in one of the following tracks:
Film & Television
Under this program, the students will study up to 1 year in Dhaka, and then proceed to UCSI University, Malaysia, to complete the remaining part of the program. UCSI has excellent studio facilities:
Production Studio: houses the cameras and the lighting equipment. Students have access to Canon XL 1 and Panasonic DVX 102 cameras for the work of their projects.
Audio/Visual Editing Room: equipped with APPLE G5s and APPLE G4s with FINAL CUT PRO HD as the editing software. It also functions as a movie projection room.
Students must meet the requisite English proficiency of either an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no band below 5.5) or a TOEFL score of 213 (computer based) / 550 (written based) or equivalent, and one of the following qualifications.
Div 1 or GPA 3.5; Maths
60% in 6 subjects; Maths
65% in 6 subjects; Maths
GCE "O" Level
5 credits; Maths
Div 2 (550 marks) or GPA 3.5
60% in 6 subjects
GCE "A" Level
2 credits + 3 "O" Level credits
Year 12 / Matriculation
65% in 6 subjects
*Depending on the Admission Assessment Test, students in these categories may be required to do some bridging courses before being admitted into the program.
